Job summary

Guidepost Montessori is seeking a Lead Toddler Guide to lead a mixed-age toddler classroom in a Montessori environment that supports exploration and independence.

You’ll help children develop language, coordination, self-regulation, and confidence through observation, individualized lessons, and respectful guidance. You’ll empower toddlers to explore, make choices, and take pride in their achievements as a foundation for lifelong learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• ECE or Child Development credits required.
• Interest in pursuing Montessori certification.
• Experience with children ages 0–3 in group care or early learning.
• Alignment with child-led approaches (Montessori, Reggio Emilia, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Observe each child closely to support physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Prepare and maintain an orderly classroom that fosters focus and exploration.
• Encourage toddlers to do things themselves to build independence.
• Provide lessons in practical life skills, language, and grace and courtesy.
• Build warm, trusting relationships with children and families.
• Communicate and collaborate with parents to support growth.
• Lead classroom routines and collaborate to create a respectful, joyful community.
