Job summary

San Bernardino County is recruiting for a Supervising Title Transfer Technician to supervise technical and clerical staff handling title transfer duties. The role requires supervising, training, and assigning work, while coordinating with other department units and developing procedures to improve efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have journey-level experience interpreting property descriptions and relevant tax codes, plus two years of supervisory leadership.

Qualifications

• Must have three (3) years of journey-level technical experience interpreting legal descriptions of real property involving title transfer transactions.
• Experience must include interpreting and explaining California Revenue and Taxation Code regarding change in ownership, exclusions, and/or exemptions of real property.
• Two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise technical and clerical staff performing title transfer duties.
• Train staff and assign work; monitor performance and provide guidance.
• Coordinate work with other department units; ensure procedures are followed.
• Develop and revise procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Resolve the most difficult public inquiries related to property change in ownership.
