Job summary

Solestial, Inc. seeks a Senior Thin Film Deposition Engineer to own and advance PVD/PECVD processes for scalable manufacturing. You will troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain deposition equipment, partnering with engineering and production teams to ensure reliable, high-yield film production.

The role emphasizes hands-on work with sputter deposition, vacuum systems, and process development. A strong background in materials science and a manufacturing setting is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (materials/engineering).
• Significant hands-on PVD/PECVD experience in manufacturing.
• Deep knowledge of thin film deposition and vacuum systems.
• Experience in DOE and data-driven process improvement.
• Hands-on maintenance and modification of deposition equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot process–equipment issues in production.
• Comfortable working with production equipment in fast-paced settings.

Responsibilities

• Own and optimize PVD/PECVD processes.
• Develop and modify deposition processes to improve film performance.
• Monitor process performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain deposition equipment including preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose vacuum, gas delivery, and chamber issues.
• Partner with engineering and manufacturing to minimize downtime.
• Develop process recipes, parameters, and controls.
• Plan and execute DOE experiments to optimize performance.
• Support equipment modifications as needs evolve.
• Analyze data to identify trends and root causes.
• Document processes, specifications, and maintenance procedures.
• Support transfer of processes from development to production.
