Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. seeks a lead scientist specializing in thermal and chemical characterization to guide technology development and product performance objectives. You will define characterization strategies, design experiments, and mentor scientists and technicians across programs.

You will interpret complex datasets, validate methods, and support root-cause investigations, with responsibility for SOPs and technical documentation in a collaborative R&D environment in Niskayuna, NY.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant technical discipline from an accredited university.
• 3+ years industrial R&D applying thermal and chemical characterization to materials.
• 3+ years experience with LECO and ICP analyses.

Responsibilities

• Act as enterprise SME for thermal and chemical analysis across programs.
• Design, execute and interpret thermal characterization experiments (DSC, TGA, SDT, DVA).
• Execute and interpret chemical analyses (LECO, ICP).
• Apply first-principles thermodynamics and kinetics to data interpretation.
• Characterize diverse material systems (metals, ceramics, polymers).
• Develop and document new analytical methods to extend capability.
• Lead data interpretation, uncertainty assessment, and data correlation with microstructure.
