Job summary

Messer Fort, based in Frisco, Texas, seeks an experienced litigator to lead eminent domain and related government-oversight dockets. You will handle pre-suit through trial, coordinate with experts, and advise city clients on acquisition strategy.

Texas licensure and strong condemnation experience are required; candidates from either side of the docket are welcome. You will manage a condemnation docket with limited supervision and contribute to multi-party negotiations.

Qualifications

• Must have substantial eminent domain litigation experience in Texas.
• Experience handling special commissioners hearings and post-award litigation.
• Ability to read and critique appraisal reports and frame value disputes.

Responsibilities

• Lead eminent domain docket from pre-suit through special commissioners hearings and trial.
• Manage statutory requirements and notices under relevant Texas codes.
• Collaborate with appraisers, engineers, and experts on damages and highest and best use.
• Negotiate settlements and handle trials and mediation.
• Support Chapter 54 enforcement and related municipal litigation.
