Job summary

Fidelis Companies seeks an experienced hardware bring-up engineer to lead board-level debugging for next-gen networking platforms. You will own test plans, validate ASIC integration, and drive high-reliability silicon validation within a Linux environment.

Responsibilities include end-to-end bring-up of high-density switch boards, development of automated test scripts, and close collaboration with ASIC, SI, and software teams to resolve complex failures under tight schedules.

Qualifications

  • BS/MSEE or related technical field required.
  • 5+ years of board-level hardware bring-up and debug experience.
  • Experience with high-speed data center networking equipment preferred.

  • Bridge hardware design and software automation to create test plans ensuring reliability.
  • Develop automated test scripts and frameworks in Linux (Python/Bash/Tcl/C/C++).
  • Conduct end-to-end bring-up of high-density switch boards and perform root-cause analysis.

Job description

  • Serve as the primary hands-on technical expert for bring-up and board-level debugging of our industry-leading network switching platforms, including next-generation high-power networking silicon (including the Tomahawk product line)
  • Responsible for architecting and executing testing for complex board-level systems, ensuring that cutting-edge ASICs are successfully integrated and validated against rigorous performance standards
  • You will bridge the gap between hardware design and software automation, creating comprehensive test plans that ensure high-reliability product delivery
  • Navigate the aggressive schedules of silicon bring-up, using your deep expertise in hardware-software integration to troubleshoot complex failures and optimize individual and system-wide test workflows
  • Perform end-to-end bring-up of high-density network switch boards, executing detailed board-level debug and root-cause analysis of hardware failures
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated automated test scripts and software frameworks within a Linux environment (using Python, Tcl, or C/C++ to facilitate rapid hardware validation
  • Author and execute detailed test plans covering functional verification, high-speed signal integrity SerDes, and power delivery for next-generation networking ASICs
  • Partner with ASIC, Signal Integrity, and Software teams to identify, document, and resolve logic failures or unhandled exceptions during the validation process
  • Drive improvements in test methodologies and lab automation to reduce cycle times and improve the quality of silicon yield as a subject matter expert
  • Manage technical documentation including detailed failure analysis reports
Requires:
  • BS/MSEE/CE or related technical field and at least five (5+) years of experience in board-level hardware bring-up and debug for high-tech electronics, specifically within networking or high-speed data center equipment
  • Advanced proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and strong programming/scripting capabilities, using Python, Bash, Tcl, or C/C++ for developing automated test suites
  • Solid understanding of high-speed interface standards like PCIe CEM, and SerDes, and industry-standard form factors, OCP NIC 3.0
  • Extensive experience using lab equipment such as high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG/1500/1687 network debuggers
  • Proven track record in implementing boundary/corner-case analysis and unit/integration testing for hardware-software integration
  • Demonstrated ability to own technical projects, organize complex personal workflows, and deliver high-quality output under tight deadlines
