Job summary

Kinder Morgan is seeking an operations supervisor to oversee coal and pet-coal bulk materials handling at Pier IX / X Terminal. You will train staff, plan and direct work, and coordinate with rail, vessel, and barge movements while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will manage schedules, budgets, and performance, with a focus on efficient, compliant operations and customer satisfaction. Willingness to work shifts and travel as needed is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required; 3–5 years’ related experience or training.
• Experience leading a medium to large team of direct reports.
• Familiar with USCG regulatory rules for dock or marine terminal operations.
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime as needed.
• Must develop understanding of bulk handling operations and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Supervises all aspects of coal and pet-coke bulk materials handling operations, including training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work.
• Establish and maintain crew/work schedules to meet customer needs within budget.
• Manage rail, vessel, and barge scheduling, incident reporting, and environmental compliance.
• Enforce safety rules and procedures; ensure training for new employees.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to support equipment upkeep and repairs.
