Job summary

Dime Commercial Bank is hiring a Head Teller at its Locust Valley Branch in Long Island. The Head Teller provides guidance, supervision, and support for new and existing tellers within the branch.

The role includes processing transactions, managing cash, ensuring policy compliance, and supporting branch development. Strong supervisory or retail banking experience and solid PC skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' retail banking experience preferred.
• Cash-handling experience required.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Advanced PC skills (Word, Excel) and basic network/e-mail knowledge preferred.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to compliance and records.

Responsibilities

• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently (deposits, withdrawals, transfers, money orders, cash advances, cashier's checks).
• Order, ship and provide branch cash plus vault cash for branch and ATM.
• Perform supervisory duties and manage over/short GLs and cash items.
• Ensure teller line runs smoothly and adheres to bank policies on money handling and controls.
• Support branch business development by referring customers to platform staff.
• Coach tellers on platform referrals.
• Schedule teller staff as needed per branch requirements.
