M.C. Dean is seeking a Telecom Technician 3 in Boydton, VA to lead installation, planning and scheduling of communications cabling and equipment for work orders. You will supervise a crew, ensure high-quality work and conduct safety inspections.

Responsibilities include installing Low Voltage Cable, telecom systems, documenting infrastructure, and producing look-ahead plans. Travel up to 25% may be required, with full-time employment and company benefits.

Qualificações

• 6+ years experience in commercial communications industry.
• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Must have an excellent safety record, a valid driver's license, and clean driving record to drive a company vehicle.
• Successfully pass a background check and drug test.
• Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
• Strong communications, time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
• Wear long pants and a shirt that covers the shoulders.
• Provide basic tools from provided tool list prior to 1st day of employment.

Responsabilidades

• Have knowledge of and understand the safe use of hand tools and various power tools.
• Wear required PPE.
• Follow Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Actively Participate in Daily Safety and Work briefings.
• Install various types of Low Voltage Cable.
• Install, inspect, terminate, test, and troubleshoot ISP/OSP telecommunications systems (Fiber Optics, Cat 5/6/6A).
• Survey and document existing telecommunications infrastructure.
• Sketch rack elevations, floor, and wall elevations.
• Participate in design document reviews to ensure timely, cost effective, and quality outcomes.
• Install and connect fiber uplinks of network equipment into a telecom cabinet/rack.
• Calculate grounding conductor, conduit sizing and raceways layouts.
• Produce 4 week look ahead plans including productivity planning and material procurement.
• Train and supervise apprentices in a team environment.
• Maintain accurate as-built drawings and logs.
• Perform quality assurance checks of team’s work.
• Maintain a clean work area and assist in job site cleanup.
• Secure company tools and materials daily.
• Up to 25% travel may be required.
