Job summary

Transport Refrigeration Services, Inc. in Wintersville, OH is seeking a Lead Technician to oversee shift operations, diagnose and repair refrigeration units, and lead a team of technicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Proven experience as Technician and/or Supervisor.
• Obtain a toolbox and required tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee shift operations, ensuring work is completed on time and to high standards.
• Assign tasks to technicians and manage workflow.
• Answer customer service calls, assist with needs, and create work orders.
• Ensure safety and compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration units using OEM software, read codes, diagnose electrical issues.
• Handle repairs for truck/trailer systems: fuel, coolant, electrical, drivetrain, brakes, suspension, and more.
• Perform PM services on trailers, refrigeration units, and APU units.
• Perform FHWA/DOT inspections on trucks and trailers.
• Brake and ABS brake system replacements.
• Tire repairs and replacements for trucks and trailers.
• Structural, rear door, and electrical trailer repairs.
• Perform APU repair and troubleshooting.
• Perform road service work, service company vehicles, and maintain equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized shop environment.
• Lead by example and adhere to company and customer standards.

What You’ll Do as a Lead Technician

As the Lead Technician, you'll manage your shift while ensuring your team meets repair and maintenance deadlines. Your responsibilities include:

• Overseeing shift operations, ensuring work is completed on time and to high standards
• Assigning tasks to technicians and managing the flow of work
• Answering customer service calls, assisting with needs, and creating work orders
• Ensuring safety and compliance with company policies and procedures
• Troubleshooting and repairing refrigeration units using OEM software, reading codes, and diagnosing electrical issues
• Handling repairs for minor and major truck and trailer systems: fuel, coolant, electrical, drivetrain, brakes, suspension, and more
• Conducting PM services on trailers, refrigeration units, and APU units
• Performing FHWA/DOT inspections on trucks and trailers
• Brake and ABS brake system replacements
• Tire repairs and replacements for trucks and trailers
• Structural, rear door, and electrical trailer repairs
• Performing APU repair and troubleshooting
• Performing road service work, servicing company vehicles, and maintaining equipment
• Maintaining a clean and organized shop environment
• Leading by example and adhering to company and customer standards
