Job summary

Shellback Semiconductor Technologies Lead Technician location: Lehigh County, PA. This role provides technical leadership, coordinates department tasks, and drives safety, quality, and productivity improvements.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical technology preferred.
• At least 3 years as Assembly Technician – Level 3 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Understand electrical and mechanical assemblies across multiple product lines.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components during tool installation and integration.
• Review drawings and specs with Engineering for tool design and layout.
• Work across multiple environments and platforms in tandem.
• Mentor and train associates on best practices.
• Coordinate with Supervisor to ensure material flow and equipment readiness.
• Troubleshoot complex tool issues and customer returns.
• Meet delivery dates by prioritizing work and communicating risks.
• Perform tool checkout and documentation.
• Interface with Field Service and customers as required.

The Lead Technicians’ purpose is to provide technical expertise, leadership, and coordination within their department to effectively service customers, facilitate productive quality operations, and develop associate’s skills. The Lead Technician is responsible for performing their core job responsibilities plus leading others in their related tasks and responsibilities. The Lead Technician is a key contributor in determining and continuously improving processes and procedures promoting safety, customer service, quality, and productivity. Lead Technicians help coordinate and facilitate their departments’ work and coordinate workflow with their supervisor. The Lead Technician Reports to the Production Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical and electrical understanding of multiple product lines; ability to work on both electrical and mechanical assemblies with limited support on two platforms (e.g. SRD, Mercury, Torrent, Storm).
• Ability to troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical components and sub-assemblies during the installation and integration of a tool.
• Ability to review drawings and specifications and discuss conceptual applications of tool design and layout with Engineering or other applicable personnel.
• Work in multiple environments, generally contributing to multiple platforms in tandem.
• Mentoring and training associates in best work practices.
• Working closely with the Supervisor to ensure smooth material flow to designated projects and that equipment and tools are maintained to support the manufacture of product in their area.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues, both electrical and mechanical, related to tool builds, sub-assemblies, spare parts, and customer returns.
• Under the guidance of the Supervisor, achieve customer expected delivery dates by setting work priorities, assigning tasks to personnel, ensuring quality of workmanship is maintained, ensuring employees are fully engaged and highly productive, and reporting schedule risks to the Supervisor.
• Perform tool checkout and complete all required documentation.
• Interface with Field Service and customers, as required.
• Any other duties assigned by supervision.

Requirements

This position requires in-depth knowledge of all areas of responsibility. He or she must be organized, articulate, forthright, work well under pressure and have a positive communications style. The jobholder will be required to ensure quality workmanship and promote professional behavior.

Education / Technical: Associates Degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical technology preferred, but not required.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Assembly Technician – Level 3 (Shellback Semiconductor Technologies) or equivalent experience from another assembly position.
