Ascension's Columbia Saint Mary's Hospital in Milwaukee, WI, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a full-time role within the Pharmacy department. The position offers a 40-hour week with day and evening shifts, including every other weekend and three holidays per year.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Tech credentialed with state board required prior to hire.
• Registration with Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board required.
• Optionally NA/PTCB credentials are acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shift operations to keep pharmacy activities running efficiently.
• Mentor and coach Pharmacy Technicians and staff.
• Monitor progress, ensure adherence to policies and SOPs.
• Lead shift-level troubleshooting and support strategic projects.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Operational Leadership: Coordinate shift operations, manage daily resources, and assign work to keep pharmacy activities running efficiently.
• Team Mentorship & Guidance: Act as a subject matter expert and functional resource, supporting and coaching Pharmacy Technicians and staff.
• Quality & Compliance Oversight: Monitor work progress, ensure adherence to regulatory policies and standard operating procedures, and report compliance metrics.
• Departmental Problem Solving: Lead shift-level troubleshooting, collaborate on operational solutions, and assist management with strategic specialty projects.
• Talent Development: Provide actionable input on hiring, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, and ongoing associate development.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Registration with the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board required. Must provide proof of application to register with the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board and once registration is granted, must be maintained.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
