Job summary

Ascension's Columbia Saint Mary's Hospital in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for the Retail Pharmacy team. This full-time, days-only role supports pharmacists by handling distributive duties and preparing medications in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You'll refill dispensing systems, manage inventory, and assist with sterile and non-sterile compounding. A Wisconsin license/registration is required, with preferred national certification.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board required.
• Registration with the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board required.
• Preferred: Pharmacy Tech credentialed from National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
• Preferred: Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Pharmacy Technician program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide distributive pharmacy services and technical support for the Pharmacist prior to receiving certification.
• Refill and maintain automated dispensing systems.
• Prepare orders and maintain inventory for the Pharmacy department.
• Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds.
• Repackage bulk medications.
• Receive and store incoming supplies.
• Triage incoming calls and liaise between pharmacy, patient and health professionals.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Registration with the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board required. Must provide proof of application to register with the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board and once registration is granted, must be maintained.
• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association preferred.
• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Pharmacy Technician program preferred.
