Talent Edge Recruiting is seeking a Lead Technician to join our team specializing in commercial overhead doors and loading dock equipment in Clinton Township, MI. This is a hands-on field role handling installation, troubleshooting, and service on both new construction and existing projects.

You will travel within a 2-hour radius of Detroit with an assistant technician, documenting work with an iPad and maintaining high quality standards.

Formación

• 2+ years of Lead Technician experience or 5+ years of overhead door/loading dock experience.
• High school diploma and valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel within Detroit area; occasional overnight travel.
• Comfortable using an iPad and basic technology.

Responsabilidades

• Work on new construction and service/repair projects.
• Load materials at the shop and prep for job sites.
• Measure openings and verify equipment requirements.
• Diagnose equipment and troubleshoot service issues.
• Document completed work with photos on an iPad.

• Collaborate with assistant technicians and management.

Lead Technician - Overhead Door & Loading Dock

Location: Clinton Township, MI

Pay: $25-$35/hour

Schedule: Starting around 6:00 AM | 40+ hours/week

Travel: Primarily within a 2-hour radius of Detroit with occasional overnight travel

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Lead Technician to join a growing team specializing in commercial overhead doors and loading dock equipment.

This is a hands-on field position working on both new construction and service projects. You'll install, troubleshoot, repair, and service equipment while working directly with customers and a second technician on many projects.

What You'll Do

• Install and service commercial overhead doors and loading dock equipment
• Work on both new construction and service/repair projects
• Load materials and equipment at the shop before heading to job sites
• Measure openings and verify equipment requirements
• Meet with customers and complete assigned work
• Diagnose equipment and troubleshoot service issues
• Document completed work and take jobsite photos using an iPad
• Maintain clean and organized work areas
• Work with assistant technicians and management
• Maintain a high standard of quality and attention to detail

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of Lead Technician experience or 5+ years of overhead door/loading dock experience
• Commercial or residential experience considered
• High school diploma
• Valid driver's license
• Comfortable using an iPad, smartphone, and basic technology
• Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to travel as needed

Preferred: High-speed door experience, OSHA 30, forklift experience/certification, and experience with both new construction and service work.

• $25-$35/hour
• Overtime at 1.5x after 40 hours
• Sunday pay at 2x
• Double-time pay for on-call work
• $50 on-call bonus
