Job summary

Ruppert Landscape is seeking a Lead Technician & Engine Mechanic to join our in-house fleet team in Virginia. You will diagnose, repair, and service a variety of vehicles and landscape equipment, ensuring safety and reliability across the fleet.

The role requires 3–5 years of hands-on mechanical experience, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to supply personal tools. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required; strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs and preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment (power equipment, mowers, trucks, trailers)
• Recondition vehicles and equipment twice a year to meet company image standards and safety
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
• Accurately document and maintain service and repair records
• Provide exceptional internal customer service, prioritizing efficiency, quality, and communication
• Assist with other operational tasks as assigned

Where You Fit In

As a Lead Technician & Engine Mechanic on our in-house fleet team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and servicing a wide range of vehicles and equipment, including diesel/gas trucks, commercial mowers, and two-cycle equipment. This role is essential in upholding our company's image and keeping our operations teams working safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of fleet vehicles and equipment, including power equipment, mowers, trucks, trailers, and other landscape tools
• Recondition vehicles and equipment twice a year to ensure they meet company image standards and are safe, reliable, and ready for use
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
• Accurately document and maintain service and repair records
• Provide exceptional internal customer service, prioritizing efficiency, quality, and communication
• Assist with other operational tasks as assigned

• Experience with diesel engines and bilingual ability (English/Spanish) are preferred but not required

Reports To: Shop Manager

Pay: $25-37/hour (based on experience)
