JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Advanced Technician/Mechanic position requires experience and technical expertise to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, while utilizing leadership and mentoring skills to enhance team performance and customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Diagnose and repair according to specifications, including brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems.
- Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs clearly to non-mechanical individuals.
- Stay updated with rapidly evolving automotive technology through ongoing paid formal training.
- Assist and mentor technicians/mechanics in performing technical tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient reading, writing, and math skills.
- Valid automobile driver's license at all times, with ability to operate customer and company vehicles.
- Minimum of 5 years of automotive repair experience, completion of a Vocational-Technical School program in a related field, or demonstrated skills through third-party certifications or assessments.
- ASE certification in at least 5 areas (A1-A8), with L1 included in one of the five; new hires with similar external qualifications have up to 2 years to obtain ASE certification.
- Maintain applicable Federal, State, and Local certifications/licenses.
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical audiences.
