The Manufacturing Engineering department leads in the mechanical and electrical hardware production of weapons systems. We use state-of-the-art tools, processes, and technology, with capabilities encompassing a broad range of technical disciplines, including product engineering, manufacturing, technical services, materials engineering, analysis and test, rapid hardware development and builds, and configuration and data management documentation.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Technician – RF Sensors & Radomes Manufacturing Engineering to join our team.
This position is located at the McKinney, TX facility – On-site role.
As the Lead Technician, you will work closely with the manufacturing engineers to support factory production. You will be instrumental in troubleshooting, process improvements, and cost reductions. You will work with production operators, operations management, and quality engineering daily. This role will support the Texas Module Integration & Testing (TMIT) factory. You will become the expert on use and programming of the equipment.
In this role you will work with Manufacturing Engineers and various engineering disciplines to produce electronics used in cutting edge military hardware. Our Lead Technicians are also directly involved with internal production teams to support assembly and integration issues. This role will not only allow you to work side by side with some of our best and brightest, but also gain the experience and exposure necessary to advance your career.
What You Will Do
Assist the production floor with daily issues; evaluate materials, equipment, and processes.
Resolving problems preventing products from meeting customer requirements.
Interface with various functions including Quality, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering and Operations Management.
Thorough knowledge of assembly processes and a hands-on understanding of the product and equipment.
Qualifications You Must Have
High School Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
Experience with circuit card assembly, including surface mount and through-hole rework.
Certified in J-STD-001, Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with Onyx-29 and Onyx-32 hot-gas rework machines.
X-ray machine experience.
Ability to work with large teams in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to communicate and collaborate with assemblers, managers, engineers, and customers.
Experience with Common Manufacturing Enterprise System (CMES) factory operating system.
Experience with semi-automated and manual assembly and integration.
Knowledge of depot and sustainment activities for defense-related hardware, specifically electronics.
