Job Summary
Responsible for overseeing the technician department and refurbishing, repairing, and maintaining IT equipment, devices, testing equipment and other electronic equipment as requested.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Leads, trains and assists technicians within the technician department.
- Troubleshoots errors within the ERP and diagnostic and hard drive wiping software and hardware.
- Completes weekly reporting on the technician’s production to ensure production goals are met.
- Manages and orders diagnostic, wiping and other licenses as needed.
- Maintains area organization to ensure max productivity.
- Ensures accuracy of wholesale lots by performing lot verifications and checking for data entry errors.
- Works and interacts with current and prospective clients, other employees, sales representatives, and vendors.
- Communicates with technicians and account representatives to gather accurate work instructions on IT equipment.
- Communicates with account representatives and clients to get BIOS, Firmware, MDM, or iCloud locks removed from IT Equipment.
- Resolves issues pertaining to enterprise, device, testing and other electronic equipment and works with customers to ensure enterprise equipment and technology is working within specifications.
- Accurately documents and keeps detailed records of all work-related activities.
- Provides all other support as requested by the manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Stays abreast of changes in IT equipment technology.
- Actively works to gain more knowledge and experience.
Required Skills/Abilities
- General mechanical and electrical knowledge.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work with limited supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of employees as well as customers both verbally and in writing.
- Proficiency with computers to include MS Word, Excel, Outlook and ability to learn new software.
- Ability to perform general arithmetic.
- Ability to perform duties with a high level of judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Working towards applicable industry certification.
- Basic Hand and Power Tools.
- Soldering Iron.
- Multimeter.
- Oscilloscope.
- Demonstrated ability to perform duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
2+ years of hands‑on experience performing device, testing and other electronics repair and maintenance. Broad experience with general IT devices, test equipment, and hand tools. Broad experience operating electronic and specialized test equipment; troubleshooting equipment faults, and performing quality‑assurance testing on a variety of IT equipment.
Physical Requirements
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- May be frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold (non‑weather), and extreme heat (non‑weather).
- Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms.
- Lift and/or move up to 55 lbs.
