Job summary

Grounded is hiring its first in-house recruiter to own end-to-end technical recruiting in Detroit. You will partner with the founders and technical leads to define roles, build pipeline, and run a fast, humane process across manufacturing, engineering, and software teams.

As Grounded scales, you’ll design the recruiting function from zero, establish workflows and employer branding, and close candidates with equity discussions when appropriate.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of in-house technical recruiting experience.
• Strong track record hiring hard-to-fill roles in engineering and build-focused teams.
• Demonstrated ability to close candidates, including equity discussions.
• Comfort building pipeline and process from scratch with minimal infra.
• Excellent sourcing and candidate assessment skills.
• Clear, compelling communicator with hiring managers and candidates.
• Highly organized and self-directed in fast-moving environments.
• Motivated by mission and able to connect with candidates beyond comp and perks.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle recruiting across manufacturing, engineering, software, field ops, and generalist roles.
• Partner with hiring managers to define roles and design interview loops.
• Build and manage top-of-funnel pipeline through sourcing, events, referrals, and creative channels.
• Run a fast, human-centered recruiting process delivering a great candidate experience.
• Create systems and workflows for scale: ATS hygiene, scorecards, candidate tracking.
• Track and report pipeline and hiring metrics to keep searches on track.
• Partner with founders on headcount planning: what to hire and costs.
• Shape employer brand online and offline to sharpen outbound messaging.
