Job summary

Biamp, a leader in audio and video solutions, seeks a senior Technical Publications writer to create, edit, publish, and maintain high-quality client-facing documentation that aligns with product release schedules. You will interview SMEs, analyze engineering materials, evaluate prototypes, and manage documentation projects end-to-end, partnering with engineers, editors, and product teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of technical writing experience with audience-tailored content.
• Must deliver publication-ready drafts with minimal editorial corrections.
• Excellent information-gathering skills from engineering docs, sources, and hands-on evaluations.
• Advanced proficiency with Illustrator and Photoshop, Microsoft Office, and CAD rendering like SolidWorks Composer.
• Experience with content management and version control: SharePoint, Git, GitHub.

Responsibilities

• Create, edit, publish, and maintain client-facing technical documentation aligned with product release schedules.
• Interview SMEs and translate engineering materials into clear documentation plans.
• Evaluate prototypes and builds to ensure accurate understanding of product functionality and user workflows.
• Independently manage documentation projects, develop work plans, and track status.
• Represent Technical Publications in product development and ECO meetings; advise teams on information design.
• Partner with fellow writers to provide creative support and participate in editorial, peer, and publishing reviews.
• Stay current with emerging trends, tools, and methodologies in technical communications.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by your manager.
