Job summary

Audio Visual Design Group (AVDG) is seeking a Commercial Project Engineer to lead technical documentation and design review for complex AV installations. You will be the technical liaison for the Tech Ops team, coordinating with Clients, Sales, CAD, and Engineering to ensure precise BOMs and commissioning records.

AVDG, part of Guitar Center since 2017, delivers next-generation AV systems across the United States. Must have CTS/CTS-D and 5+ years in AV design; CAD proficiency required.

Qualifications

• CTS and/or CTS-D preferred.
• 5+ years' experience in AV systems design.
• Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of AV experience plus a four-year degree or military experience may be considered.
• Demonstrable understanding of systems integration techniques.
• Proficient with Computer Aided Drafting software.
• MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access proficient without training.

Responsibilities

• Be the technical liaison for the Tech Ops team.
• Interface & maintain dialogue with Clients, Sales, CAD, and Tech Ops team members.
• Ensure well-executed system installation through detailed documentation packages (AutoCAD drawings, IP/network documentation, commissioning documents, change orders, RFIs).
• Identify cabling and miscellaneous material needs.
• Direct technical teams on installation challenges.
• Project manager liaison for engineering inquiries.
• Assist and provide ongoing technical assessment and support during integration, install, and commissioning.
• Meet with vendors to evaluate products.
• Write and commission digital signal processing programming.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
