Job summary

ServiceMaster Restore is seeking an experienced Lead Restoration Technician / Crew Chief in New York to oversee water, fire and smoke mitigation projects and to lead field teams in accordance with IICRC S500 and S700 standards.

The role requires hands-on leadership, a valid driver's license, physical stamina, and availability for emergency response. You will manage daily jobsite operations, document moisture readings, coordinate with project management, and ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in supervising restoration crews.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding environments.
• Availability for emergency response and on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Lead water damage restoration, fire and smoke mitigation, and related remediation projects.
• Direct daily jobsite operations for technicians and subcontractors.
• Perform and verify moisture inspections, moisture mapping, and psychrometric calculations.
• Coordinate drying, cleaning, containment, and deodorization strategies with Project Management.
• Set up, monitor, and adjust drying, filtration, and air scrubber equipment.
• Oversee controlled demolition and removal per scope.
• Enforce PPE usage and cross-contamination controls.
• Conduct quality control inspections to ensure IICRC standards compliance.
• Document moisture readings, equipment placement, and job progress in software.
• Communicate professionally with customers, adjusters, and internal teams.
• Assist with on-site carpet cleaning tasks.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership or crew lead experience
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding environments
