Job summary

Shadow Rock Preschool in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Lead Preschool Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom where children grow socially, emotionally, and intellectually. You will design engaging lessons, guide a co-teacher, and partner with families to support each child’s development.

You will manage daily routines, document progress, and ensure compliance with licensing rules. The role emphasizes playbased, hands-on learning for a class of 13 with CDA advancement

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School diploma
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a lead or assistant teacher in a licensed preschool
• Current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check

Responsibilities

• Lead daily classroom activities including circle time, small groups, outdoor play, and arts

• Collaborate with the assistant teacher to keep the instructional team cohesive

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood education team in Phoenix, AZ. In this role, you will create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where young children can grow socially, emotionally, and academically. You will design and implement a high-quality lesson plans, manage daily classroom operations, and build strong partnerships with families to support each child's unique development. You will work closely with an Assistant Teacher in a playbased, hands‑on classroom of 13 children.

What You'll Do

• Plan and execute an engaging, age-appropriate curriculum that aligns with Shadow Rock Preschool's playbased learning philosophy.
• Lead daily classroom activities, including circle time, small group lessons, outdoor play, and creative arts.
• Assess and document child progress, behavioral milestones, and developmental growth to share with parents during conferences.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that complies with all state licensing regulations.
• Cooperate and collaborate with the assistant teacher to ensure a cohesive instructional team.

Requirements

• minimum of a High School degree
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a lead or assistant teacher in a licensed preschool setting.
• Current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.

Nice To Have

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field.
• Valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent state certification.
• Current Arizona Food Handlers Card, CPR, and First Aid certifications.

• Once the teacher has worked at Shadow Rock Preschool for a year, the preschool will pay for the teacher to earn their CDA.
• Shadow Rock Preschool also pays for teachers who have been on staff for at least a year maintain their CDA.
