Job summary

FSA Child Development Services in Moreno Valley, CA seeks a Lead Teacher I to supervise the classroom, guide child development, and assess progress in line with Title 22/Title 5 regulations. You will lead a team of educators, plan daily activities, and coordinate family engagement.

You will also manage DRDP assessments, ERS/CA licensing records, and staff performance, while ensuring safety and developmental outcomes. This role requires an Associate Degree and a Teacher Level Permit.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development; for Infants/Toddlers, at least one course in care or development.
• A minimum of the Teacher Level Permit.
• At least 1 year of center-based care experience within the last four years; infants/toddlers requires at least 6 months with that age group.
• CLASS Training completed within 6 months; PITC training within 1 year.
• DRDP Rater Certification within three months of hire and maintained during employment.
• ERS Training within 6 months of hire for CDSS educators.
• Must be able to bend, sit on low chairs or floor, and lift up to ~40 pounds.
• Maintain clear status with Community Care Licensing throughout employment.
• Participate in at least 21 hours of professional development per year.
• Willing to work flexible hours to meet program needs.
• Health screening and immunizations (influenza, pertussis, measles, TB) required; safe sleep and related trainings.
• Maintain Pediatric first aid & CPR, mandated reporter training and other certifications as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and implement the program per policies and licensing standards.
• Develop and follow a daily schedule balancing indoor/outdoor activities for developmental domains.
• Lead educators in quality interactions to support social skills.
• Develop relationships with children and families to integrate learning.
• Lead New Family Orientation and transition plans to welcome new families.
• Maintain health checks, meal counts, DRDP/ERS documentation and learning plans.
• Lead DRDP assessments and portfolios via Learning Genie, ASQ-3 and ASQ-SE; coordinate conferences.
• Oversee staff assignments and supervise Associate Teachers and Classroom Assistants.
• Ensure safe, clean, and compliant classroom environment with required records.
