Job summary

Family Services Association in Cabazon, CA is seeking an Associate Teacher to supervise, develop, educate and assess children under the guidance of the lead teacher. You will help maintain a safe, engaging learning environment in compliance with Title 22 and Title 5 regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 ECE semester units, including core classes.
• Associate Teacher Level Permit required.
• At least 1 year of experience in the last four years; infants require 6 months of relevant experience.
• DRDP Rater Certification must be obtained within three months of hire.
• CLASS training completed; PITC training for Infant/Toddler if available.
• ERS Training within 6 months of hire.
• Maintain health and safety compliance and licensing status.

Responsibilities

• Assume Lead Teacher responsibilities in their absence, including classroom management and curriculum as assigned.
• Follow daily schedule supporting all areas of child development (indoor/outdoor, large/small motor).
• Engage in DAP interactions to support social skills development.
• Develop relationships with children and families to integrate learning.
• Complete required health checks, meal counts, DRDP/ERs/ASQ reports as assigned.
• Lead nap/rest periods and provide suitable activities if children do not sleep.
• Supervise classroom assistants and communicate professionally.
• Conduct and document safety drills (fire, earthquake, intruder).
• Maintain sign-in/out procedures and confidential handling of family information.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to meet licensing and NAEYC standards.

Associate Teacher Level Permit

1 year experience (6 months for infants)
