Qualifications

• Knowledge of early childhood education, child development, anti-bias education.
• Knowledge of local educational resources and their classroom use.
• Knowledge of bilingual language acquisition.
• Knowledge of Head Start policies and procedures desirable.
• Bilingual English/Spanish speaking, reading, and writing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for infants/toddlers with feeding, diapering, holding.
• Assign children to primary care group and plan transitions.
• Communicate with parents via daily updates, home visits and conferences.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities indoors and outdoors.
• Set up/tear down and maintain clean, safe spaces and equipment.
• Prepare and serve meals per plans; document care and development.
• Maintain attendance and meal counts; complete records.
• Attend trainings and meetings; support special needs services.

Education

High School Diploma or GED (Lead Teacher)

12 ECE units including infant/toddler

AA in Early Childhood Education or Child Development

BA in Early Childhood Education/Child Development

State PDAC Permit or CDA credential

CPR/First Aid/ Food Handlers within 2 months
