Job summary

El-Proyecto-Del-Barrio is seeking a Lead Teacher bilingual in English and Spanish to guide classroom development and support underserved populations. The candidate must hold a Child Development Teacher Permit and have comfort working in a nonprofit setting.

You will develop age-appropriate activities, plan lessons, and assess individual children while coordinating with families and the program to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Strong communication and professionalism are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in early childhood development, child development, or equivalent OR a combination of education and related work experience.
• 1 year of related experience.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create a nurturing, learning environment for children to facilitate the development of fundamental skills, including social interaction, motor skills, language, and cognitive development.
• Assist with the development of lesson plans based on the children’s needs and interests.
• Utilize play-based activities to teach children.
• Assist with the assessments of individual children.
• Participate in community outreach activities as necessary to maintain appropriate children enrollment.
• Maintain clear communication with parents regarding children’s development and the program.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
