Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in early childhood development, child development, or equivalent OR a combination of education and related work experience.
  • 1 year of related experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create a nurturing, learning environment for children to facilitate the development of fundamental skills, including social interaction, motor skills, language, and cognitive development.
  • Assist with the development of lesson plans based on the children’s needs and interests.
  • Utilize play-based activities to teach children.
  • Assist with the assessments of individual children.
  • Participate in community outreach activities as necessary to maintain appropriate children enrollment.
  • Maintain clear communication with parents regarding children’s development and the program.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Teacher II position is a Lead Teacher position.Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred.Must have Child Development Teacher Permit.Must be comfortable working with underserved populations. Experience working with a nonprofit organization a plus.JOB SUMMARYThis position will serve as a classroom teacher to facilitate each child’s growth in social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development with age-appropriate activities.
