Job summary

The Lead Teacher/ECDS at Arkids Pediatric Day Centers will oversee the classroom and supervising Classroom Technicians to ensure high-quality care and development for patients.

They will serve as the Early Childhood Developmental Specialist for their classroom and may act as ECDS for other classrooms, ensuring habilitation services across cognitive, communication, social/emotional, motor, and adaptive areas.

Qualifications

• Requires a BSE in Early Childhood Education or a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Five years of experience in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• Must pass background checks including Arkansas DPSQA, FBI checks, and maltreatment regulatory checks.
• Drug screen required on hire, annually, or randomly.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Classroom Technicians and ensure appropriate adult-to-child ratios.
• Ensure Individualized Treatment Plans (ITP) are implemented and goals/objectives are developed.
• Review lesson plans with Classroom Techs and ensure Tally Sheets are accurate monthly.
• Maintain health, safety, and sanitary learning environments in accordance with policies.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, staff, and outside contacts.
• Promote gross and fine motor development during physical activity and outdoor play time.
