Job summary

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire is seeking a dedicated lead teacher for the Early Care and Education Center at Androscoggin Valley Hospital (AVH). You will guide curriculum, maintain high standards, and support children's development in a cooperative, mission-driven environment.

Requirements include 18 credits in ECE, 2 years of experience, 1,000+ hours in licensed programs, CPR/First Aid, and strong communication with families.

Qualifications

• Lead teacher qualified (18 credits) with 2 years of experience in Early Childhood Education or a similar field.
• Minimum 1,000 hours working in a licensed program.
• Knowledge of current teaching methods, principles, and techniques of teaching.
• Knowledge of curriculum development and application.
• Ability to plan and implement quality programs; proven creative teaching strategies.
• Ability to form developmentally appropriate relationships with children and promote positive behavior.
• Ability to motivate members and manage behavior with patience.
• Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
• Ability to communicate with staff, families, and community members.
• Must obtain CPR and First Aid certifications per licensing requirements.
• May be required to drive the Club van/short bus periodically.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that facilitates Youth Development Outcomes.
• Respond to interests and needs of individual children with positive guidance.
• Plan curriculum to meet youth needs using emergent curriculum elements.
• Establish and maintain program goals for health and safety.
• Evaluate programs and track outcome metrics, ensuring inclusivity.
• Use observation notes for curriculum planning and record-keeping.
• Maintain group rosters by name and face.
• Ensure compliance with NAEYC, GSQ, Culture DNA, and BGCCNH policies.
• Dispense medications per policy and administer first aid; communicate with families.
• Oversee cleaning and upkeep of classrooms.
