Job summary

The Learning Experience – Hudson Yards, New York, NY is seeking an experienced Lead Teacher for a 2-year-old classroom. You will guide daily routines, support language growth, and foster independence within a warm, engaging environment that helps young learners build confidence.

This full-time role offers $22–$25 per hour (based on education and experience) along with benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, paid time off, training and development, and discounts for families.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education is required or in progress
• Minimum 6 months of classroom teaching experience
• Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practice for toddlers
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred; must meet NY State and NYC childcare licensing requirements

Responsibilities

• Lead daily classroom routines for a 2-year-old early childhood classroom
• Implement developmentally appropriate activities aligned with the L.E.A.P. Curriculum
• Support early communication, social interaction, and self-help skill development
• Create a structured environment that promotes independence and participation
• Partner with assistant teachers to maintain classroom consistency and engagement
• Communicate regularly with families regarding classroom activities and developmental progress
• Maintain compliance with New York State and NYC health, safety, and licensing standards

This role supports children during a key stage of independence, language growth, and early social development through structured routines and engaging classroom experiences.
