Job summary

The Learning Experience in Jenison, MI is seeking an experienced Lead Teacher for our 2-Year-Old classroom. You will establish a positive, language-building environment while guiding children through hands-on exploration and social-emotional growth.

This full-time role runs Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM and follows Michigan licensing requirements. We offer competitive pay, health and vision benefits, paid time off, paid training, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous professional childcare or early childhood classroom experience required.
• Experience with toddlers or 2-year-olds strongly preferred.
• CDA, Early Childhood Education coursework, degree, or other qualifying credential preferred.
• Must meet Michigan requirements to serve as Lead Caregiver.
• Patient, positive, energetic, and confident leading a classroom.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily classroom routines and learning experiences
• Implement The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum
• Engage children through art, sensory play, music, movement, stories, language, and imaginative play
• Encourage communication, independence, and self-help skills
• Support children's social-emotional development and peer interactions
• Use positive guidance and consistent classroom expectations
• Support toileting, diapering, meals, rest time, and daily routines
• Observe and document children's developmental progress
• Guide and collaborate with Assistant Teachers
• Build strong relationships with children and families
• Follow Michigan licensing and center requirements
