Job summary

The Learning Experience - Beltline in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking an experienced Lead Teacher for our 2-Year-Old classroom. You will design engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that support language growth and social-emotional development while building strong family partnerships.

This full-time role uses the LEAP Curriculum, supports daily routines, and encourages independence through hands-on art, sensory play, music, and imaginative play.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous professional childcare or early childhood classroom experience required.
• Experience with toddlers or 2-year-olds strongly preferred.
• CDA, Early Childhood Education coursework, degree, or other qualifying credential preferred.
• Must meet Michigan requirements to serve as Lead Caregiver.
• Patient, energetic, dependable, and confident leading a classroom.

Responsibilities

• Lead an engaging classroom designed for active 2-year-olds.
• Implement The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum.
• Provide hands-on experiences through art, sensory play, music, movement, language, and imaginative play.
• Encourage communication, self-help skills, and growing independence.
• Support children's social-emotional development.
• Use positive guidance and consistent classroom expectations.
• Support toileting, diapering, meals, rest time, and daily routines.
• Observe and document children's development.
• Guide and collaborate with Assistant Teachers.
• Build positive relationships with families.
• Follow Michigan licensing and center requirements.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Grand Rapids, MI

Pay: $17-$20 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM

The Learning Experience - Beltline is looking for an experienced Lead Teacher for our 2-Year-Old classroom.

At two, children are building vocabulary, testing their independence, learning classroom routines, and discovering how to navigate friendships and emotions. We're looking for a teacher who understands this unique stage and can turn children's natural curiosity into meaningful learning.
