Job summary

The Learning Experience - Cascade is seeking an experienced Lead Teacher for a 2-year-old classroom in Grand Rapids, MI. You will lead daily activities, implement the L.E.A.P. Curriculum, and guide a team to foster curiosity, language growth, and social skills.

This full-time role offers a Monday–Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, competitive $17–$20 hourly pay, health and vision benefits, paid time off, and opportunities for professional development and advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous professional childcare or early childhood classroom experience required.
• Experience with toddlers or 2-year-olds strongly preferred.
• CDA, Early Childhood Education coursework, degree, or other qualifying credential preferred.
• Must meet Michigan requirements to serve as a Lead Caregiver.
• Dependable, patient, energetic, and confident managing a classroom.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily classroom activities, routines, and learning experiences
• Implement The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum
• Engage children through sensory play, art, music, movement, stories, language, and imaginative play
• Encourage communication, independence, and self-help skills
• Support social-emotional development and positive peer interactions
• Use positive guidance and developmentally appropriate classroom management
• Support toileting, diapering, meals, rest time, and daily routines
• Observe and document children's developmental progress
• Guide and collaborate with Assistant Teachers
• Build positive partnerships with families
• Follow Michigan licensing and center requirements
