Job summary

The Learning Experience - Jenison in Jenison, MI is seeking an experienced Lead Teacher for our 2-Year-Old classroom. You will create a positive environment where children build language, independence, friendships, and confidence through hands-on exploration.

The role is full-time, Monday–Friday, with a competitive hourly pay of $17-$20 based on experience and qualifications. You will implement the LEAP Curriculum and support families daily.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous professional childcare or early childhood classroom experience required.
• Experience with toddlers or 2-year-olds strongly preferred.
• CDA, Early Childhood Education coursework, degree, or other qualifying credential preferred.
• Must meet Michigan requirements to serve as a Lead Caregiver.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily classroom routines and learning experiences.
• Implement The Learning Experience's LEAP Curriculum.
• Engage children through art, sensory play, music, movement, stories, language, and imaginative play.
• Encourage communication, independence, and self-help skills.
• Support children's social-emotional development and peer interactions.
• Use positive guidance and consistent classroom expectations.
• Support toileting, diapering, meals, rest time, and daily routines.
• Observe and document children's developmental progress.
• Guide and collaborate with Assistant Teachers.
• Build strong relationships with children and families.
• Follow Michigan licensing and center requirements.
