Job summary

Shenandoah University’s Child Care Department invites applications for a lead teacher position in the 2-year-old classroom. This full-time benefited role is based in Winchester, Virginia, with hours Monday through Friday from 8:45am to 5:45pm.

Responsibilities

Maintain an organized, safe, and educational classroom for 2-year-olds.
Develop and implement curriculum based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and conferences.
Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
Ensure a healthy classroom environment with hygiene and safety standards; change diapers and potty-train as needed.
Supervise teacher assistants and substitutes; maintain records and files.
Maintain a personal professional development plan for quality improvement.
Other duties may be assigned as needed.
