Shenandoah University’s Child Care Center is accepting applications for a part-time benefited Teacher’s Assistant. The position hours are 12:30 - 5:45 pm, Monday through Friday, located in Winchester, Virginia.

The role involves assisting teachers to maintain a safe, engaging classroom and supporting daily activities for young children. Requirements include being 18+, childcare experience, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Experience working with young children in a group childcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers and assistants in daily activities and classroom needs; flexible schedule based on staffing.
• Complete book orders, dishes, laundry as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality in all classroom activities.
• Keep a positive, upbeat attitude.
• Feed, diaper and interact with all children; take outdoors daily; communicate with parents.
• Clean and sanitize toys, cribs, tables and highchairs; stock diapers, wipes and ointment.
• Learn and implement licensing regulations.
