Job summary

Joyoflearningcenter in Milford Mill, MD is seeking a passionate Lead Teacher for a full-time, Monday–Friday role. You will own the classroom, design age-appropriate activities, and lead implementation of the play-based curriculum to prepare children for kindergarten.

You will oversee daily care routines, mentor junior staff, and communicate regularly with families about progress and milestones. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED (CDA/Associate preferred), 2–3 years’ childcare

• 2-3 years of experience in a childcare facility.

Positions: Lead Teacher

What you bring as a Team Member:

As a Lead Teacher, you will take full ownership of the classroom, moving beyond participation to actively designing and directing age-appropriate activities that cultivate the intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development of each child. You are responsible for leading the implementation of the provided curriculum, ensuring that children from infancy to school age are academically and socially prepared for a successful transition into kindergarten. In addition to overseeing daily care routines—such as feeding, hygiene, and nap time—you will mentor junior team members and substitutes to maintain high standards of classroom management. As a primary point of contact, you will also partner with families to provide consistent updates on their child’s progress and developmental milestones.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED;CDA;Associates in Education or equivalent
• DCF 90 Hours
• 2-3 years experience working in a childcare facility

Pay: $21.00 Hour based on Region, education and experience
