Lead Teachers - Preschool/Toddler

Summary

Full-time positions, 35+ hours per week, with generous benefits. Lead a teaching team, guide assistant teachers with observations, assessments, curriculum planning, and building strong relationships with children and families. The Lead Teacher oversees classroom operations, supports curriculum development, manages classroom community and family partnerships, and ensures compliance with OEC and NAEYC standards. Provides welcoming service to children, families, guests, and staff.

Duties
  1. Treat each child, co-worker, and family with dignity and respect.
  2. View family-teacher relationships as partnerships, focusing on each child's strengths and abilities.
  3. Use CT ELDS during planning.
  4. Support children's learning across all domains using developmentally appropriate practices.
  5. Plan with the team to meet individual needs and provide enriched environments.
  6. Provide differentiated instruction based on assessment data.
  7. Use and promote positive guidance techniques.
  8. Implement DOTS/T.S. Gold and Ages and Stages assessments.
  9. Record observations and levels/age bands in the system.
  10. Maintain a safe and healthy environment, monitoring hazards and sanitation.
  11. Ensure appropriate supervision and ratios at all times.
  12. Promote good hygiene practices.
  13. Comply with licensing, NAEYC, and WLCDC policies.
  14. Enforce safety policies and emergency procedures.
  15. Attend required staff and family meetings, trainings, and in-services.
  16. Uphold WLCDC policies and NAEYC ethics.
  17. Supervise and support assistant teachers and substitutes.
  18. Engage in ongoing reflection and professional development planning.
  19. Ensure consistent attendance for continuity of care.
  20. Collaborate with staff to ensure program quality.
Other Functions
  1. Perform special assignments and related duties as required.
Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in ECE, 2+ years of classroom experience, familiarity with CTELDS and DOTS. Salary varies with education and experience.
