Job summary

Kids N Fitness South in Decatur is seeking a Lead Teacher to support infant care with developmentally appropriate lesson planning and day-to-day activities. You will establish a positive rapport with families and ensure a safe, clean learning environment.

The role requires a CDA or 6 ECE college credits and the ability to pass background checks; lead-teacher experience is a plus. Shift is Monday–Friday, 7am–4pm, with competitive pay and a benefits package.

Qualifications

• CDA or at least 6 ECE college credits and the ability to pass all background checks.
• A plus if you have previous lead teacher experience!

Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
• Implement lesson plans/curriculum weekly and align with classroom schedule and daily routine; use the parent app for communications.
• Establish a professional rapport with each family to provide quality care.
• Maintain safety and well‑being of each child and keep an organized, clean classroom.
• Maintain child assessments and portfolios and conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences.
• Physical ability to work around small children, including lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Carry out daily classroom responsibilities related to child care.

Kids N Fitness South, in Decatur, is a licensed childcare center seeking a Lead Teacher to support the following age groups:

Infant

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a CDA or at least 6 ECE college credits, and the ability to pass all background checks. A plus if you have previous lead teacher experience!

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 7am-4pm

Compensation: $18 - $19/hour, based on education and experience.

Main Job Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
• Implement lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development and carry out lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine; Use our parent communication app efficiently.
• Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
• Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs; and maintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.
• Maintain a child assessment and portfolio for each child, as well as conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences during the month of November and May.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
• Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
