Job summary

Teradyne in Massachusetts seeks a Senior Systems Engineer for the IST Hardware Engineering team to deliver world-class system-level test solutions to a growing customer portfolio.

The role defines self-test, telemetry, data visualization and analytics within a green-field charter that will influence future product architectures. You will work with hardware and software teams to validate and optimize tester performance across manufacturing and service life.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of systems engineering experience.
• Experience with architecture, requirements decomposition, traceability, system performance and scalability.
• Experience defining test architecture, diagnostics, telemetry or data-analysis capabilities for complex products.
• Multidisciplinary technical expertise in one or more: complex electronic systems, automation and controls, software usability or test execution.

Responsibilities

• Engineering validation: verify tester functionality before customer delivery.
• Manufacturing: provide self-test and data-analysis capabilities for every unit built.
• Reliability and service: use telemetry and analytics to trend degradation and support maintenance.
• Product architecture: ensure testability and data requirements are designed in from the start.
• Productivity and performance: use data to assess throughput and thermal behavior.
• Define self-test and system-health architecture and telemetry capabilities.
• Lead with hardware and software engineers across implementation, verification, deployment and field evaluation.
• Build telemetry, data and analysis strategy to collect, visualize and analyze system data.
• Use data to generate actionable information on system health and performance.
• Determine visualization and UI framework for maintenance personnel to isolate issues.
• Define requirements for using customer test programs and DUT telemetry in adaptive models.
• Evaluate AI techniques where they add value to data analysis.
• Shape new product development to embed observability and analytics from architecture onward.
• Contribute to multi-generation product roadmap for self-verification and diagnostics.
• Track market requirements and engage with customers on reliability and data expectations.
• Lead across functional boundaries and provide technical leadership across teams.
