Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Engineer/Manager to lead and execute complex technical projects in Colorado. You will oversee design, development, and implementation while balancing technical, cost, and schedule constraints and guiding cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include developing Statements of Work, providing technical estimation, leading trade studies, mentoring junior engineers, and communicating project status to stakeholders. PMP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; Master’s +3 years acceptable.
• Typically 5+ years of related experience.
• Strong technical foundation for project/programmatic skills.
• Ability to lead small cross-functional teams and projects.
• Advanced technical knowledge in the engineering discipline.
• Strong project management skills.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• General knowledge of two or more functional disciplines outside of engineering.
• Risk and opportunity management knowledge.
• Experience communicating across engineering and functional teams.
• PMP certification (preferred).
• Experience with systems engineering and integration (preferred).
• Proficiency with MS Project and Primavera (preferred).
• Experience with CAD software and engineering design tools (preferred).
• Knowledge of industry standards and PLM (preferred).
• Familiarity with Agile and Lean methodologies (preferred).
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously (preferred).
• Experience developing and managing project budgets (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute technical projects.

• Conduct trade studies and lead technical evaluations.

• Communicate and coordinate across engineering and functional teams.
• Communicate project status to technical and programmatic audiences.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
• Serve as a bridge between Engineering and Program offices.
• Resolve conflicts and represent stakeholders, support functions, and customers.
