Adaptive Solutions Group is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer in the St. Louis area to drive strategy and leadership across enterprise collaboration platforms.

You will own long-term roadmaps for productivity tools, lead senior technical initiatives, and mentor multiple engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions. The role requires deep Microsoft ecosystem expertise, strong communication, and governance experience to ensure resilient platforms and effective user adoption.

Lead Systems Engineer Adaptive Solutions Group is a premier provider of information technology personnel. We provide a variety of technical professionals available for contract, contract-to-hire, or direct placement positions to companies throughout the Midwest. We are currently looking for a Lead Systems Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute long-term strategy, governance, and technology roadmaps for enterprise productivity, collaboration, and communication platforms.
• Serve as the senior technical leader and subject matter expert for Microsoft and collaboration technologies.
• Lead large-scale initiatives involving Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, Teams Voice, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Copilot, Entra ID, and related workplace technologies.
• Collaborate with architecture, security, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable solutions.
• Establish engineering standards, governance models, operational processes, and best practices across collaboration and productivity platforms.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching to engineering teams across multiple projects and initiatives.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve employee productivity, collaboration, and user experience.
• Partner with technology vendors and service providers to maximize platform capabilities and drive strategic outcomes.
• Ensure security, compliance, governance, resilience, and recovery requirements are incorporated into technology solutions and operational processes.
• Contribute to cross-functional initiatives involving applications, identity management, security, connectivity, end-user technology, and enterprise architecture.
• Build strong partnerships with technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership through effective communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving.

Required Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.
• Must reside in St. Louis, Missouri, or immediate surrounding area.
• 8+ years of IT engineering experience.
• Experience supporting and administering Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, Teams Voice, SharePoint Online, Entra ID, and related security and compliance solutions.
• Proven experience serving as a technical subject matter expert and leading complex, cross-functional technology initiatives.
• Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership across multiple teams.
• Experience translating business requirements into scalable and effective technical solutions.
• Strong understanding of security, resilience, disaster recovery, business continuity, and governance best practices.
• Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience implementing and governing Microsoft Copilot and AI-enabled workplace technologies.
• Experience with Atlassian cloud products, including Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with Microsoft Graph API, Power Platform, automation, and scripting technologies.
• Experience managing strategic technology vendor relationships and partnerships.Experience leading platform modernization, migration, and user adoption initiatives.
• Microsoft and/or Atlassian certifications.
