Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a highly capable Systems Engineer to join the Mission Systems Secure Systems Department in Cedar Rapids. You will design and develop military products ensuring secure, protected communication for warfighters, interfacing with multi-discipline teams to deliver total system solutions.

The role requires experience across the full systems development lifecycle and the ability to lead development efforts while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience with the systems development process from requirements to verification/validation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, architect, and design at all levels of total system product.
• Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specs.
• Decompose specifications into sub-systems and define verification criteria.
• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analyses.
• Lead a Systems Engineering Development effort and mentor junior engineers.
• Participate in bid and proposal efforts.
