Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to develop and deliver systems engineering products across Palmdale, CA, Rancho Bernardo, CA, and El Segundo, CA. The role emphasizes requirements management, interface control, and cross-team coordination.

The candidate will work with MBSE approaches, model-based methods, and tools such as DOORS and Cameo, leveraging software and hardware integration experience and Agile practices to drive technical excellence.

Qualifications

• 5 years of related engineering experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in STEM; or 3 years with a Master’s; or 1 year with a PhD.
• Active USG Secret clearance (with a background check within past 5 years or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation).
• Ability to obtain and maintain initial SAP/PAR access prior to employment or within a reasonable time to meet business needs.
• Ability to obtain and maintain subsequent SAP/PAR access after commencement of employment to support the statement of work.
• Experience with Python or other scripting language.

Responsibilities

• Perform requirements development, allocation, verification/validation planning and manage interface definition efforts.
• Write complex specifications, interface control documents, and engineering reports.
• Support interface/communication with program, functional and subsystem leads.
• Maintain Systems Engineering artifacts following proper configuration management procedures.
• Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure proper verification and validation of Systems Engineering artifacts.
• Possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills with excellent communications to support coordination across IPTs and with external customers.
• Solicit input from various stakeholders and team members to synthesize data and communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
