Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Salt Lake City is seeking an experienced systems engineer to lead requirements capture, decomposition, and management for complex defense and aerospace programs. You will support system architecture, verification, validation, and acceptance testing, collaborating with Integration & Field Engineering teams to resolve system-level issues.

This onsite role emphasizes cross-functional leadership, rigorous documentation, and milestone reviews.

Qualifications

• Experience with system integration, test processes, and system-level design
• Experience with requirements management tools (JAMA highly desirable)
• Experience with driving clarity in complex, multi‑discipline environments
• Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-team collaboration skills
• Prior experience conducting system verification, validation, or acceptance testing
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements capture, decomposition, and management
• Support system architecture development and certification level definition
• Conduct acceptance testing, image generator testing, and ATP preparation
• Contribute to milestone reviews, technical documentation, and system traceability
• Partner with Integration & Field Engineering teams to resolve system-level issues
• Maintain configuration integrity and collaborate on bill of materials updates
• Provide technical insight during demos, industry engagements, and program reviews
