Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the development, lab validation, and documentation of Technical Instructions for ERAM. You will work closely with FAA SLE Book Owners in physical and virtual labs to dry-run, test, and validate procedures before deployment to ARTCCs.

The role emphasizes hands-on Linux/Unix administration, VMware virtualization, and enterprise networking, with collaboration across systems architects and government stakeholders to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Network Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
5 to 8+ years of progressive engineering experience with focus on systems administration, hands-on infrastructure testing, or developing deployment instructions.

Responsibilities

Plan, author, schedule, and maintain complex TI for the ERAM environment.
Partner with FAA SLE Book Owners in lab environments to execute and validate configuration steps, patches, and hardware replacements.
Configure, troubleshoot, and administer Linux/Unix systems and RHEL/Unix environments.
Turn architecture designs, network port maps, and scripts into crisp, repeatable instructions using enterprise standards.
Interface with systems architects, hardware engineers, and government stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
Ensure all procedures are cataloged, version-controlled, and routed through formal approvals.
