Job summary

Kratos Defense and Security Solutions is seeking a Lead Systems Architect to shape and maintain the CCS-C program's technical vision, architecture, and engineering strategy. You will guide multidisciplinary teams across requirements, design, integration, verification, validation, and production transition to deliver mission-critical systems.

The role requires deep aerospace/defense expertise, leadership in technical reviews, and the ability to mentor engineers while interfacing with customers

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, applied mathematics, or closely related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience involving complex aerospace, defense, or mission-critical systems.
• Proficiency in modern architectural patterns like microservices, event-driven architecture, and hybrid cloud solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for complex, distributed systems.
• Experience across requirements, design, integration, verification, validation, qualification, and deployment.
• Knowledge of systems-engineering principles, requirements management, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chief Engineer in defining and maintaining the CCS-C technical vision, system architecture, and engineering strategy.
• Lead development, evaluation, and maturation of system and subsystem architectures.
• Ensure requirements are complete, traceable, verifiable, and allocated across systems and interfaces.
• Guide multidisciplinary teams through requirements analysis, design, integration, verification, validation, and production transition.
• Evaluate design alternatives and trade studies considering performance, cost, schedule, risk, reliability, and producibility.
• Coordinate technical decisions across engineering disciplines, program management, operations, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain.
