Job summary

Kratos Defense and Security Solutions in Colorado Springs, CO seeks a Systems Engineer / Project Technical Lead for SATCOM and Space Ground System projects. You will provide technical leadership across the lifecycle, leading cross-functional teams of hardware, software, integration, and test engineers, interfacing with Production, Quality, and Customer Support.

Responsibilities include requirements analysis, architecture development, verification support, and acceptance testing.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related STEM degree.
• Strong understanding of signal processing, digital communications theory, and network communications.
• Software development experience in at least one modern language (C++).
• Experience coordinating requirements with the customer, defining a solution, and developing test methodology.
• Leadership of a technical team across multiple disciplines.
• Proficiency with test equipment (Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, etc.).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with customer interaction.
• Willingness to travel to provide customer support (≈20% CONUS).

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-functional hardware, software, integration and test teams across the lifecycle.
• Analyze requirements, architecture, and design for SATCOM and ground systems.
• Support verification, troubleshooting, and acceptance testing of solutions.
• Guide project planning, scheduling, and risk mitigation for on-time/on-budget delivery.
• Represent Kratos as technical advisor in customer meetings and reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal R&D projects.
