Job summary

ARCH Global Precision in Escondido, CA is seeking an experienced Lead CNC Set-up Machinist to independently set up and troubleshoot 8-axis Swiss machines (Tsugami, Citizen). You will verify programs, configure tooling, and perform in-process inspections to ensure parts meet tight tolerances and delivery goals.

Responsibilities include taking ownership of setups, mentoring teammates, coordinating with production, and ensuring ERP entry (JobBOSS).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; technical certificate or AAS in Machining preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of CNC machining experience (Tsugami, Citizen preferred).
• Experience with medical/aerospace or high-precision small parts manufacturing is a plus.
• Familiarity with CAM verification (Mastercam, Esprit, or similar).
• ERP experience preferred (JobBOSS or similar).

Responsibilities

• Perform full set-ups on Swiss-style CNC machines for new and repeat jobs.
• Interpret setup sheets, programs, and prints to determine tooling and sub-spindle usage.
• Lead and mentor other Set-up Machinists in troubleshooting.
• Load, verify, and adjust programs (Fanuc, Mitsubishi, or OEM controls).
• Conduct First Article Inspections using micrometers and high-precision equipment.
• Enter setup data and inspection results in ERP (JobBOSS).
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the work area.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities in cycle time and tooling.
